Opening hours vary according to the season, the number of customers and whether the ferry is able to run (dependent on weather and tides). Check their Facebook for updates.

This 300 year old pub on Piel Island is open from April to September and can be reached by passenger ferry from the lifeboat station at Roa Island (see website for prices and times) or by foot from Walney at low tide (be very careful!). Please note that the last ferry back to the mainland will be earlier than the quoted closing time.

The landlord of the Ship Inn has for many years been referred to as the King of Piel. Aaron Sanderson, the current King, was crowned on 3 September 2022.
