This is very much the village local and is worth a detour off the A590 High Newton bypass or a stop off the X6 bus from Kendal to Barrow-in-Furness. Cask ales from local breweries (LakesBrew, GanYam, Farm Yard and Fell) are complemented with an interesting bar snack menu (available during bar hours), including home-made sausage rolls and baked cheese with sourdough. The Michelin starred restaurant (booking essential) serves seasonal local produce and has many other awards.
